Moda Sampler Block Shuffle

The Moda Sampler Block Shuffle is here!

Many of you met my wonderful SO (Significant Other) during your visit last week
to my recently-opened quilt store in El Paso, Texas.
Well, sad to say he is quite sick with a throat infection, 102.7 fever, and can't talk.
Must've been all the excitement from last week!
So since I have no idea how to put anything on our web page,
I'm putting all the details for the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle here on my blog.

 Let's get started...

Each week from November 10, 2015  through January 2016, we'll be                                      sharing 2 to 3 free downloadable quilt blocks you can add to your pattern library!

    But there's a catch:

Each set of block patterns will only be available for a few weeks
so in order to collect the entire set, you'll have to check out our website each week
to download the latest additions.
These blocks are created by various quilt designers and
are intended to increase your quilting skill level.
We could all use a little help - huh?  :)

Every Wednesday will be Moda Sampler Block Shuffle Day
at Made With Love Quilt Store & More.
Please stop by to see a demonstration of a piecing technique.
Bring your blocks so that we can take a picture of your block(s)
and put it on our Facebook Page - madewithloveelp.

Click on the images to download the printable Moda Sampler Block patterns.
Each one will print two copies of the block pattern -
one for you and one for a quilting friend!
But don't wait too long, because these patterns
are only available for a limited amount of time.

These blocks from Week #1 and Week #2
are no longer available.  :(

Block #1 by Pat Sloan

Block #2 by Me and My Sister Designs

Block #3 by Sandy Gervais

Block #4 by V and Co

Block #5 by Kathy Schmitz

Block #6 by American Jane

Here are so helpful tutorials.  Click on each picture to download them.

Here is an idea of the final setting.  It will be available at a later date.

Moda Sampler Block Shuffle

You're gonna love it!

So pull out your fabrics.
Moda recommends two Jelly Rolls, or two Layer Cakes, or one of each.
They are using fabrics created by each designer for that designer's particular block.
I will be doing the shop sampler blocks in the "whatever-is-in-my-stash" collection!

Hope to see you Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:00
as we kick off this exciting Block of the Week (BOW)!

LACE...again!

Awhile back I wrote a very brief post about commenting on people's blogs.
It read like this ---

I have a new acronym...LACE
It stands for Leave A Comment Everytime.

I know people visit my blog...I see it in the tracker-thingamijig.
But there's rarely any comments left.  :(

Now we all know how bloggers just love to read
comments left by visitors on their blogs - right?
But then I got to thinking - that can be dangerous!
And I have to admit...I hardly ever leave a comment on the blogs I visit.
Guilty as charged!

So now I will LACE on every blog I visit.  How about you?  :)

Blessings to you, denise  :D

I have to admit that I have not been "practicing what I preach"!
I promise to do better.

It's so much easier on Facebook...
You just have to hit the Like button.
No comment needed.
The person knows you like what they  posted.
That you acknowledge them in some way.

That's what commenting on a person's blog does -
Acknowledges and affirms.
Sends a virtually hug.
Says I like what you created.
Thanks for sharing your life, your love,
your fears, your doubts,
your creative endeavors and your makes,
your thoughts and your ideas.

Simple as that!
You don't have to write anything
a smiley face will do.
:)

Really...
Try it!

:D

Made With Love 4 My Sister

I just love making bracelets.
All kinds of bracelets.

Here is a bracelet I made for my sister, Sherri.

This "Sister Love" bracelet incorporates a variety of
turquoise and silver beads with silver findings
that represent the special relationship that we have.

The turquoise cross represents our faith in
our heavenly Father as well as in each other.

The silver heart (kinda turned on its side in the photo)
represents the love we have shared for a lifetime.

The turquoise bird represents on times together
at our little cabins in the woods.
My place is called "Niecey's Nest".  :)

The turquoise heart represents our love of our families -
brothers, mother, father, our own children, nieces, nephews,
in-laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Whew!  That's a lot of lovin' there!

May God bless my precious sister always and in all ways.
I love you, Sherbs!  xoxo

"God Bless America" Bracelet

I recently posted a request for ideas and suggestions
for my new bracelet-making adventure on

One of my quilting friends, Cheryl, suggested
a patriotic "For God and Country" memory wire bracelet.

Here is what I Made With Love especially for her:

The single yellow bead is in honor of all of our military personnel
who are deployed and away from family and friends.
May God protect them and bring them safely home.

I used a variety of patriotic beads and charms with silver findings

Proud to be an American!

Boxed and ready to go to its new home!
Congratulations, Cheryl, for your great idea.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
Maybe you could be the lucky winner of a bracelet
designed just for you using your idea(s).

Thanks for stopping by.
Wishing you a blessed day from the USA!

More Bracelets Minus Dangles and Charms

Like I said in my last blog post,
I have been making more bracelets
minus the many charms and dangles.

Have a look-see!...

This is a Fruit of the Spirit Bracelet with each bead
representing one of the Fruit of the Spirit
according to Galatians 5:22-23.

Pink represents Love -
Gold represents Joy -
Pearl represents Peace -
Purple represents Patience -
Red represents Kindness -
Green represents Goodness -
Blue represents Faithfulness -
Turquoise represents Gentleness -
Clear represents Self-Control.

Each bracelet that I create is unique - no two are exactly alike.

I use memory wire for the bracelets that I make.
No more struggling trying to put your bracelet on
when there's no one to help you out!

They are finished with a Made With Love Charm
and a Holy Spirit (bird) charm.

I've also made some other styles...

This is The Life of Christ Bracelet with each bead -
glass or silver - telling part of the special story
of the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ,
from His birth to His death.

These bracelets also have a Made With Love charm.
They each include a cross charm.

Each of these bracelets is also unique - one-of-a-kind - works of love.

They are available on Etsy at:

Making Pretties!

I've been busy making bracelets and earrings the last couple of days.
I'm wanting to do more local Arts and Crafts Shows.
Oh, and some out-of-town ones would be great, too.
(Anyone got any suggestions?)

At my first Arts and Crafts Fair/Farmer's Market a few weeks ago
I received lots of positive feedback.
One comment that several people made though was
"I'm just into the dangley things."

So since all of the bracelets I had made were full of "dangley things"
I figured I needed some "not so dangley" bracelets.

Here are some John 3:16 Bracelets that I made.
Instead of using the sparkly beads like I previously had,
I used turquoise beads and silver components.
I use memory wire for easy-to-put-on bracelets.

Each bead or bead combination tells part of the scripture.

"For God (clear bead) so loved (heart bead) the world (round bead)
That He gave His only begotten son (cross bead)
That whosoever believes in Him (Believe bead)
Shall not perish (black bead)
But have everlasting life (silver heart bead)."

Each one is then finished with a beautiful cross
and one of my Made With Love heart charms.

This cross is one of my most favorite.
It is an "Ojo de Dios" - "Eye of God" - cross.
Just lovely!

And here is a little peek at my crazy, messy creative space in use...

I try to gather all my main components and beads before I begin.
But still...I find myself always hopping from one bead container
to another to another until I find just the right piece.

Crazy creativity happening here!

I also made some earrings to coordinate with the bracelets.

Hearts - I love hearts!  God's love is abundant!

Crosses...Christ died for us for that we would have life eternal.

Birds...The Holy Spirit.

More Crosses.

All of these will be available on my Etsy Shop at:
